Overview of research

Dr. Francis C. Dane is a social psychologist (Ph.D., University of Kansas, 1979) whose research encompasses mathematical models of medical outcomes and environmental determinants of learning through simulation. He was Co-Director of the longest running longitudinal registry project concerning in-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation and is currently involved, with others at Carilion Clinic, in research concerning hypothermia as a post-resuscitation treatment. He is Professor and Chair of Arts & Sciences at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia and holds secondary appointments at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Mercer University School of Medicine. In addition to membership in Sigma Xi, he is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society.
